A ministry, board or district office of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir government that publishes under .gok.pk is telling residents and visiting officials that the site is genuinely part of the AJK administration, not an unofficial page or a third party repurposing government branding for its own purposes. Because PKNIC verifies the applicant before switching the name on, only an authentic AJK government body can ever hold a .gok.pk address.

.gok.pk is reserved for Azad Jammu & Kashmir's own government bodies, so a federal ministry belongs under .gov.pk, and a department based in another province or territory should use its own matching extension — .gop.pk for Punjab, .gos.pk for Sindh, .gob.pk for Balochistan, .gkp.pk for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or .gog.pk for Gilgit-Baltistan.
An NGO or charitable trust working on AJK-based projects should register under .org.pk instead, while a private business, media outlet or individual can register the open .pk extension without submitting any documents at all.

Transferring a .gok.pk domain to us
PKNIC is the sole registrar and sponsor for every .gok.pk name, so a transfer between service providers needs a signed authorisation letter on your current registrant's letterhead (with company stamp/seal) plus a copy of the CEO's CNIC, naming the domain and the receiving PKNIC ID. Owner mismatch correction
If the registrant name on file doesn't match your company letterhead or official seal, PKNIC requires a notarised affidavit (on stamp paper worth PKR 100, attested by an oath commissioner) giving your CNIC number, company name, an explanation of the mismatch, the domain name, and the receiving PKNIC account ID.
Individual owner transfer
An individual registrant moving a .gok.pk domain between providers can instead submit a notarised affidavit (stamp paper worth PKR 100, oath-commissioner attested) stating their full name, the domain name, CNIC number, residential address, and the receiving PKNIC account ID.

What if a district office wants its own name instead of a shared one?
That's fine — each eligible AJK government office can apply separately for its own .gok.pk name, as long as it can show its own registration or mandate.
Can we use .gok.pk for email as well as a website?
Yes — once PKNIC activates the domain you can point MX records at any mail provider alongside your website's A or CNAME records.
What does .gok.pk cost to register, renew or restore?
Registration is PKR 4,149 for the first 2 years, and it renews at the same rate — no separate, higher renewal price. A lapsed name can be redeemed for PKR 1,000 between the 7th and 20th day after expiry, after which it becomes available for public auction. Transfers between registrars carry no PKNIC fee.
